In response to the upgrading of food safety standards and the expansion of profit applications, Nan Ya is proud to announce that our 'SAYA Sustainability' brand's food-grade recycled polyester pellets (R-PET) have received certification from the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) in March this year (2023). This achievement comes after securing food contact container certifications from the U.S. FDA and the European EFSA in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
In addition to promoting environmental regeneration technology and products under our sustainable 'SAYA Sustainability' brand, we are evaluating opportunities to collaborate with local recycling businesses in other countries, thus establishing a localized complete recycling and sustainable production chain. This strategic approach will enable us to continuously increase the contribution of green products to our revenue and overall performance.
With the TFDA food packaging certification in hand, we can now supply food-grade recycled polyester pellets to domestic bottle manufacturers. In the future, businesses in the food, beverage, or hospitality industry with direct food-contact container or packaging needs will have a safe and environmentally friendly choice.
Furthermore, in collaboration with domestic unified corporate entities, Nan Ya is collecting PET bottles from central, southern, eastern, and outlying areas. Utilizing our advanced PET recycling technology, we process these bottles into food-grade recycled polyester pellets, contributing to the development of a domestic packaging material recycling system.
Our commitment to PET bottle recycling and the production of high-value long-fiber products dates back to 2007. Our independent sustainable brand, 'SAYA Sustainability,' covers all eco-regeneration product lines. From the raw material side, we prioritize the single-material design in product development, enhancing recycling efficiency from the industry's source, and expanding the application fields of polyester products to realize our environmental sustainability philosophy.
In response to global environmental opportunities and the trends in the circular economy, we have established annual production capacities of 250,000 tons for PET recycling lines in Taiwan, China, the United States, Vietnam, and other locations. By the end of this year (2023), we anticipate a substantial increase to 410,000 tons. We will continue to seek innovative technologies for effective solutions to polyester material recycling and evaluate opportunities to construct localized complete production chains with local recycling businesses in other countries to enhance the share and performance of green products in the enterprise.
Nan Ya emphasizes the importance of ensuring that the cleanliness of recycled polyester pellets is on par with virgin pellets. In addition to optimizing the recycling process, we have invested millions in commissioning research institutions to conduct real-world pollution challenge tests. We deliberately test the decontamination capability of the process by 'adding contamination' to verify its effectiveness at the highest standard. We have also formed close partnerships with bottle suppliers to rigorously inspect and manage raw material quality, ensuring the overall hygiene and safety of the food-grade rPET ester pellet production line.
